The Man Behind The Rub
My name is Jeremy. I am the creator and owner of Death by Rub BBQ. I grew up in a small town in Ohio where BBQ was really non existence. It was once I moved to Florida I was exposed to the world of BBQ, but even then, I didn’t know the full extent until I got hired at Mannix Pools and Grills. To be honest, my aspiration of becoming a part of the BBQ World started with B.J. Mannix. Once I was officially a part of the team, I realized Mannix Pools was more than just pools. Between sponsorships and BBQ competitions, there was so much more to learn. Smoke on the Water in Winter Haven, FL really opened my eyes to the difference between northern and southern BBQ. It was there I met Bracken of Kick Yo Butt BBQ. Between his BBQ sauces and eggrolls, I was hooked. I fell deeper into the world of BBQ. Then more inspirations came from Eggfest, A local event that gives back to the Boys and Girls Club of America in Polk County as well as Girls,Inc. The event is like no other. IMO Competition teams come from around the country to compete in the event. Eggheads get to enjoy samples the cook teams prepare. After my first event, that’s when I purchased my first Big Green Egg. The grilling experience is amazing. The friendships that I have developed over the last few years have been a truly humbling experience.
